Climate Change – Going Beyond Dangerous

In Naomi Klein’s piece – How science is telling us to revolt – she draws attention to the work of “one of Britain’s top climate experts, Kevin Anderson, the deputy director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, which has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s premier climate research institutions”

Here are Professor Kevin Anderson’s articles on the topic of which Klein spoke in her article

– Anderson’s presentation: Climate Change – Going Beyond Dangerous -  (July 2011)

- Anderson’s article: Climate Change  Going Beyond Dangerous — Brutal Numbers and Tenuous Hope (September 2012), published in the journal – Climate, Development, and Equity

(Here is the link to another important journal – Nature Climate Change )

Other pieces by Anderson (not alluded to in Klein’s article but also important)

- 2013 – the year of  climate decision  (January 2013)

- Presentation: From Rhetoric to Reality – Facing the Challenges of Climate Change (February 2013)

  1. I especially liked how Anderson supports his arguments with statistics and graphs that would tell us of the great danger associated with the 2 degrees increase in temperature and the 4 degrees raise; the latter of which seems to be the raise we are heading to. The catastrophic effects presented by Anderson like the decrease in crops are very interesting yet alarming at the same time.
