aH. what a sweet picture.
That’s the outgoing George W Bush ducking from a shoe thrown at him in Baghdad by an Iraqi journalist. Another shoe followed. Too bad both shoes missed him.
“In the middle of the news conference with Mr Maliki, Iraqi television journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi stood up and shouted “this is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog,” before hurling a shoe at Bush which narrowly missed him. With his second shoe, which the president also managed to dodge, Mr Zaidi said: “This is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq. Mr Zaidi, a correspondent for Cairo-based al-Baghdadiya TV, was then wrestled to the ground by security personnel and hauled away.”
Thank you ya Muntadar al-Zaidi!
Sanctioning the country for 13 years. Invading. Bombing repeatedly. Occupying for 5+plus years. and all the stealing and looting and imprisoning and terrorizing. Here’s the latest on US thefts in Iraq: New report slams U.S. reconstruction of Iraq and Iraq reconstruction called $100B failure
I have this beautiful image. Every US leader who goes to Iraq gets greeted with a flurry of shoes, a hurricane of shoes (men’s shoes and women’s high-heels), at every press conference. Even the security guards take off their shoes. And the shoes hit both the US leader and the puppets. 🙂
