too soft, too destructive

For 3 seconds of butt-wiping, destroy a forest? In the case of toilet paper, softness equals ecological destruction. Where is your toilet paper from?

  4. It is surprising to know that this industry has more effect on global warming then the cars we drive!
I think the best way to deal with this problem is the proper marketing of the recycled paper as well as communicating to the mass the impact of that non-green industry on our planet.
This would be essential to compete with the non-green products which benefit from huge advertising facilities.

  5. I am still not convinced that we should give up toilet paper altogether. However, using “luxury brands” is definitely the ignorant way to go. Trying to convince peolpe to use green products will be extremely challenging since one paper company spent 25m $ on advertising alone! Still, scientists have the duty to enlighten the public on the dangers of our ways. I didn’t know about the severity of this problem before reading this article and I wouldn’t expect uneducated people to know.
