developmental challenges of the Arab world

Pursuant to an earlier post  — here is the link to the Volume 1 and Volume II of the UNDP/LAS report.  http://content.undp.org/go/newsroom/2009/december/development-challenges-outlined-in-new-arab-states-report.en

Responses

  1. “The Arab hope for self-sufficiency in food production remains elusive”; “the proportion of young people of the total unemployed population is more than 50% for most Arab countries”; “overall poverty rates remain high, reaching up to 40% on average”.
After reading this report I should admit that the first idea that came to my mind is to finish college and leave my country for a better occidental world. But, if we, young people will leave, there will be no one left to improve our countries. I think that this is a challenging situation to all young arabs that are the victims/contributors to the difficult situation of the arab world.
