Neutrality?

The people stood. For decades they have been resisting. In various ways. And for 9 days, the people – millions upon millions of proud people – have stood – stood up to fear, to oppression, to dictatorship. They have stood up to the US and its billions of dollars supporting this dictatorship. They have stood up to Israel and its theft of Egypt’s gas, and the surrender, and separation from Palestine.

The people stood. And continue to stand.

And they stand in the face of Mubarak’s thugs. In the face of Mubarak’s thugs’ molotov cocktails and knives and bullets.

And all the while, the Egyptian Army holds on to its statement of “neutrality.”

Neutrality?

What is neutrality in the face of onslaught?

There is no neutrality with oppression, no neutrality with occupation. There is no middle of the road, no standing on the fence.

I add my voice to Comrade Rami in this excellent post
